Kimi Raikkonen could be on his way to Renault F1 for the 2007 season with Renault team boss Flavio Briatore interested in the 'Flying Finn' Renault have both seats available at present with Fernando Alonso going to Mclaren and Giancarlo Fisichella has not signed a contract for next season
Kimmi Raikkonen could be on his way to Renault F1 for a race seat next season. His contract at rivals Mclaren Mercedes runs out at the end of this season and the Finn is reported to be keeping his options open. Raikkonen might be looking for a different team with the arrival of Fernando Alonso and in the past he has stated that he would like a team that could provide him with a car that is reliable, fast and can challenge for the world championship.

The Finn maybe thinks he can find all these things at Renault who are the double world champions. Flavio Briatore the Renault team boss has came out ad said that it is not a matter of money that would keep the Finn away from Renault that was previously thought, as Raikkonen is supposed to be asking for a high salary,

"Raikkonen at Renault isn't a matter of money," Briatore told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

Flavio was then asked if Renault would give him the money to pay for Raikkonen and he replied, "If I need 10% more budget, nobody will deny me that."

Raikkonen would be an ideal replacement for the Mclaren bound Ferndnando Alonso
