This enabled Robert Kubica, who was once again on duty for the Munich
and Hinwil based squad, to conclude the scheduled programme in
preparation for the Italian Grand Prix. With temperatures reaching 26
degrees Celsius, the Pole did a total of 73 laps. His personal best
time was clocked at 1:23.575 minutes. Fastest man of the session was
Pedro de la Rosa (McLaren), who was 0.290 seconds quicker than Robert.
Due to the difficult conditions, the team began testing in the
afternoon after it had dried out. Robert continued his work from
yesterday and concentrated on further improving the mechanical set-up
of the car, as well as fine-tuning the electronic systems. He then made
a tyre comparison, also doing some long-runs.
The BMW Sauber F1 Team will be testing again from 18th to 20th
September in Jerez. This Saturday all drivers as well as BMW Motorsport
Director Mario Theissen and Peter Sauber will be part of the 2007 Race
Club Fan Event in Munich.
