Not only does this mean the Pole has twice as many points as he did at
this point last season, but he is also right in the thick of the fight
for the Formula One title. Only two points separate Robert from the
three drivers currently tied for the lead in the World Championship:
Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen (both
Ferrari).
"This has not changed my approach to the races," says Robert. "I still
want to pick up as many points as possible every weekend, and get as
much as possible out of the car. If you are still in with a chance of
winning the championship in the final race, then you can start to think
about taking the title. At the moment, however, I am taking it one race
at a time."
The BMW Sauber F1 Team driver feels that four drivers are currently in
with a chance of winning the World Championship - including himself.
However, Robert is not willing to name a favourite, as "the season
still has a long way to go. There are still another nine races. A lot
can happen in that time, particularly if races are held in tricky track
conditions, like at Silverstone. There is still a lot of racing to be
done."
