Fisichella and Sutil for 09
By Karl King
October 17 2008
Vijay Mallya told a news conference in China what most of us had been expecting; "I've made it quite clear I'm happy with Adrian and Giancarlo and they will continue through 2009." There has been little doubt that the team would retain the two drivers, with most accepting that, although the team is likely to opt for an Indian driver in the near future, Karun Chandok is not ready for F1.

There has also been some recent speculation that Force India may team up with Mercedes for an engine and technical cooperation deal in return for Force running Paul di Resta as a driver.

However, it seems that the flashes of brilliance that Sutil and Fisichella have been able to show is enough for Mallya and it now looks certain the duo will continue as team mates into next year.

Fisi had some storming high-finishing races at the beginning of the year, and Sutil - well, who could forget Monaco? Hopefully these flashes of brilliance will be translated into something a bit more consistent with the 2009 car.
