By BMW Sauber F1 Team
November 2 2008
If Robert Kubica Robert wants to score points in the final round of the 2008 season, he'll need to pass numerous drivers. However, Nick Heidfeld has achieved a far more promising initial position for the Brazilian Grand Prix .
- In the crucial third phase of qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix, Nick set the eighth-fastest time. Robert, however, failed to advance to the top-ten shootout and consequently had to settle for qualifying 13th.

- Nick will start the race on Sunday from the fourth row of the grid, alongside his compatriot Sebastian Vettel (Toro Rosso). Robert shares row seven with David Coulthard (Red Bull).

- Nick has started from eighth on a Grand Prix grid eleven times in his career. The last time he started a race from this position was the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. Robert won the race and Nick gave the BMW Sauber F1 Team a one-two by finishing runner-up.

- For the first time in his career, Robert will start 13th on a Formula One grid.

- Nick's best qualifying result at Sao Paulo remains the sixth position on the grid he secured last year. The German celebrated his best race result in a Brazilian Grand Prix back in 2001 by finishing third for the Sauber team.

- In 2007, Robert qualified seventh in Brazil and finished fifth in the race.

- In the final qualifying session of the season, Nick reduced Robert's lead in the team-internal qualifying battle to 13:5.

- The season finale will start at 15:00hrs local time (17:00hrs GMT). To finish the race, the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers will have to complete 71 laps.
