By BMW Sauber F1 Team
December 31 2008
The BMW Sauber F1 Team can look back on a successful season and wants to thank all its fans and partners for their support. In Montreal, Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld celebrated the first one-two in the team's history. In the 18 races that comprised the season, the pairing secured a total of 11 podium finishes.
Over the course of the year, the BMW Sauber F1.08 proved to be the most reliable car on the Formula One grid, thus allowing Robert and Nick to score a total of 135 World Championship points - a new record for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. The team didn't suffer a single retirement due to technical reasons.

In 2009, the Munich and Hinwil-based squad wants to make the next step: "Our ambitious goal remains the same: we want to be up there challenging for the World Championship in 2009," says BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen. The first highlight of the year will be the roll-out of the new BMW Sauber F1.09 on 20th January at Valencia.
