Over the course of the year, the BMW Sauber F1.08 proved to be the most
reliable car on the Formula One grid, thus allowing Robert and Nick to
score a total of 135 World Championship points - a new record for the
BMW Sauber F1 Team. The team didn't suffer a single retirement due to
technical reasons.
In 2009, the Munich and Hinwil-based squad wants to make the next step:
"Our ambitious goal remains the same: we want to be up there
challenging for the World Championship in 2009," says BMW Motorsport
Director Mario Theissen. The first highlight of the year will be the
roll-out of the new BMW Sauber F1.09 on 20th January at Valencia.
