FIA confirms Sauber's entry acceptance!
By FIA
December 3 2009
The FIA has written to inform BMW Sauber AG that their application for an entry in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship has been successful. Subject to their signing the Concorde Agreement, BMW Sauber will be awarded the 13th entry in the Championship, taking the place of the departing Toyota team.
The FIA has worked closely with the Commercial Rights Holder and the teams involved over recent weeks and is grateful for their support in achieving the best outcome for the sport.

An updated Formula One entry list will be published in due course.

Gentelmen, I am not a religious person, but today I have seen the face of god, and his name is Peter Sauber!

Not much more to say other than:

I'm back in time just to hear the great news!

Finally, after some struggling months, yes! Hinwil people (the ones staying though) get the award in the end, I'm really happy for them.

Looking forward to the new team, and hope that in the pipe line is a great car. I'm eager too to hear how the team will be called...and I'm not forgetting about the drivers, of course

Re: FIA confirms Sauber's entry acceptance!
Well, as I read somewhere else, it seems Mercedes is running out of drivers, with Sauber putting an offer on Heidfeld, and Prodrive securing a strong future for Renault and Kubica...hehe

In reality, if Kubica stays in Renault (don' know his willingness nor his contract details), then Mercs' seat is set for Heidfeld...unless sentimentalism and his appreciation for Peter overcomes it, which in the end I don't think will be the case

Re: FIA confirms Sauber's entry acceptance!
well, for me, if i was working for such a long time with someone that have been really close to me in that time, i would prefer working with him again... and i think that maybe, just maybe, Heidfeld will accept Sauber's offer happily... this will happened if Sauber make the offer earlier than Merc GP team... as i wrote this, there's possibility that Renault won't be on the their grid next season and that will make Kubica un-signed or should we say automatically released from his agreement with Renault...and that will make Merc GP have an offer for Kubica rather than Heidfeld..

Nick stated he would love to go to Mercedes yesterday or today on other sites. He'd be crazy to not go if given the chance. If Kimi or Michael are really out of the equation Nick may just get the call.
I would not be surprised to see Trulli driving for Sauber.

Great news for F1 and 2010 season. I love the team. First of all I want to see Trulli (I think it is much better than Lotus for the italian driver) and after him Heidfeld is clearly the very best alternative. But I like Klien, De La Rosa and Kobayashi too. Shame if they take Petrov and not Trulli.

I am pleased Sauber is back on the grid, and also that it escaped from the unbelievable situation with Quadbak . . . no thanks to BMW. That timewaster didn't help at all.

With luck they can retain Heidfeld and Petronas . . . there's quite a long association in both cases.

The downside of this story: 500 workers axed at Toyota's F1 factory

Re: FIA confirms Sauber's entry acceptance!
i've read that earlier Raid... feel sad for those 500 workers who have been terminate immediately. but then, Toyota really did a good job by giving all 500 workers with termination payments and also partial salaries for up to a year..

Sayonara Toyota...

Re: FIA confirms Sauber's entry acceptance!
It is a shame for the workers that have been released. Even though I would rather have a big budget, it is a lesson that it takes more than just money to succeed in F1.

Williams and proud of it.
