Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge becomes BMW Sauber transport partner
By BMW Sauber F1
January 18 2010
The BMW Sauber F1 Team welcomes Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG as an Official Supplier. The innovative Swiss family company will supply Peter Sauber’s Formula One team with semitrailer tractors and trucks from the Renault Trucks brand.

Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG’s slogan “Flexibility – our strength, your gain!” also strikes a chord with the BMW Sauber F1 Team, as Peter Sauber confirms: “Fast reaction times and creative solutions are a basic prerequisite in Formula One. Reliable, high-quality trucks are also vital. We look forward to a fruitful partnership.”

Company owner Luzi Thomann knows the importance of cultivating a good image: “Commercial vehicle workshops tend to have something of a rough-and-ready reputation. We decided some years ago to be different. And our success vindicates that approach.”

The Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG business concept includes providing customers with 24-hour service, 365 days a year. This demands a great deal of flexibility from the some 100 employees, and the company returns the favour. Priorities such as a profamily approach are embedded in the company’s quality management.

Thomann Nutzfahrzeuge AG was founded in Schmerikon, Switzerland in 1995, and opened a branch in Chur in 2005. The BMW Sauber F1 Team will be supplied with 13 semitrailer tractors and two trucks from the Renault Trucks brand. Official Supplier lettering will be displayed on fleet vehicles and the team’s advertising material. Official Supplier status allows a company to hold events in the event area of the Hinwil wind tunnel building, for example.
