The Great British weather played havoc at Silverstone on Sunday to provide an entertaining Grand Prix but, unfortunately, served only to catch the most local team out. Both span off the slippery surface very early on, ending up in the kitty litter with no chance of returning to the action. Adrian was first to retire, aquaplaning off on just lap 11.

After his performance in rain-soaked Monaco his fans may have been expecting more from him with his proven wet weather talent.

"At the time of my spin, the track was starting to dry and it was tricky to tell where the wet patches were. This is what happened in my case - I just went on one of these puddles and aquaplaned off completely", Adrian explained.

Fisichella lasted 16 more laps than his team mate but things went downhill when he moved off-line to let a car lap him. A complete lack of grip off the racing line caught the Italian out and he went veering into the gravel. Fisi said that "there was a lot of graining on the tyres as a result of the heavy fuel load we were carrying to be as flexible as possible with the weather...The grip level was absolutely zero and I spun."

Mike Gascoyne wasn't too downbeat, though, "Our pace certainly seems better with the modifications we made and we have some further updates for Hockenheim, so we need to move forward and have a better weekend there."

There definately was an opportunity for points in the changeable conditions, with Honda's Rubens Barrichello finishing on the podium with a second place seeming possible without problems - the Hondas of course were one of the slowest around Silverstone on Saturday!

It was home-boy Lewis Hamilton on the top step with Nick Heidfeld look rejuvinated and taking second for BMW.

The team will test this week in Hockenheim prior to the GP, something Adrian is looking forward to, "I'm now looking forward to the test next week where we can try out some more new parts and then we go onto my home race in Germany."
