Two Productive Days For STR, Ricciardo
By Andrew Cutler
February 9 2012
The first two days of the current F1 pre-season test at Jerez saw Scuderia Toro Rosso log a repectable number of short, mid & long stint runs on the new STR7 with Daniel Ricciardo behind the wheel. Afterwards, team principal Franz Tost declared himself to be satisfied that the squad had a "good base" of knowledge from which to make further improvements.

Ricciardo called the car "enjoyable to drive", and said that he is "happy with the balance". The STR7 is "user-friendly, (with) the front and rear working well togeather".

Riccardo posted the 5th best time on Tuesday, before an oil pressure issue sidelined him late in the session, and the 3rd best on Wednesday. Several sports reporters' recap articles from yesterday are filled with musings that the STR7 - or at least Ricciardo - might prove to be a pleasant suprise for the 2012 season.

Of course, these are still early days, and it is hard to know just how fully the other squads have shown their true pace as of yet.

Jean-Eric Vergne will take over the testing duties for STR during the remaining two days of the session.

in terms of speed, a, 'bees dick' between DR and JEV. should be good racing if this keeps up.

Hey Whitey are you going to allow such vulgar and vile language to be posted on your site?

Over on Ferrari, we have a poster who is complaining about abusive and obscene language. Be careful, he might come here and start causing trouble.

Oh wait....

It's my site - not Whitey's.

I am well aware of the long-running 'discussion' between K1, HGW and Parminio over on the Ferarri site. As a moderator over there, you have every right to censor/rebuke posters as you see fit - over on the Ferarri site.

I will decide what is acceptable language on this site and, while I would not chose to use such a phrase myself, I have no real issue with K1's choice when viewed in context.

In the future, I would appreciate your refraining from trying to bring whatever issues that you may have with posters on your board over here to mine.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. (Sm13)

kenji, our antipodean friend ... who cares what Webber said last year? Though as the Webber apologist you are you apology does seem fitting.

Always in good fun mate ... none the less ...

BTW this Gotye bloke (Wouter "Wally" De Backer) I would recommend you listen to some of his tunes.

duffer, given the drama by some of less educated F1 fans <inserts Webber fans here for example>

Your point is noted. Though I would recommend you give a listen to Go-tea-yay!
