Giedo van der Garde drives for who?
By Huw Alban
February 1 2007
This afternoon, Spyker F1 released a press release claiming that Giedo van der Garde was one of four test drivers for the team. However some time ago he was announced by Super Aguri in the same capacity.
Yesterday van der Garde undertook his first laps with Super Aguri at Valencia, giving some credance to Super Aguri's claims over the Dutchman.

So far Autosport have been the only outlet to get a quote out of Super Aguri, who have acted in astonishment to the Spyker F1 press release. "We are surprised to read the press release issued today as we have a contract with Giedo van der Garde to drive with the Super Aguri F1 team," Wayne Humphreys, Super Aguri's Chief Financial Officer has been quoted as saying.

Many media outlets believe that this latest legal battle will probably go to Formula One's Contract Recognition Board, who were last called in in 2004 when Williams and Honda disputed over the services of British driver Jenson Button.

It is also worth remembering that Super Aguri and Spyker F1 are locked in another row concerning the use of customer chassis.
