OFFICIAL: Liuzzi confirmed as tester

In a live webcasted press conference in Mumbai today, Vijay Mallya unveiled Vitantonio Liuzzi as Force India's official test and reserve driver. The young Italian was left without a race drive for 2008 after being disposed of by Toro Rosso in favour of Sebastien Bourdais. Liuzzi tested on occasions for the team over the winter.

The young Italian was left without a race drive for 2008 after being disposed of by Toro Rosso in favour of Sebastien Bourdais. Liuzzi tested on occasions for the team over the winter.
Liuzzi has contested in 39 grand prix, 4 of which whilst role-sharing with Christian Klien at Red Bull in 2005. In 2006 he moved on to Toro Rosso after Red Bull's purchase of the team, where he remained for 2007.
