Today's pace-setter was home-boy Fernando Alonso, his lap almost a second faster than Adrian's.

In the morning, Adrian ran in the usual 2008 car with grooved tyres after overcoming a minor clutch issue, before trying his hand with the slick tyres for the first time.

"The grip is just amazing, especially in the last sector, but it is also very physical on your neck muscles.

"I'm looking forward to it already!"

After completing 102 laps of the Spanish circuit, Mike Gascoyne commented that today has been "a useful day to finish what has been a very productive test."

He added, "overall, the test has been very useful, we've finished our scheduled work and we look in good shape for the Grand Prix," something Adrian agreed with.

I'm excited already - Force seem to be making good continuous improvement...we'll see the true form in the Spanish GP next weekend.
