Force India switch to two-wheels in Spain

Fisi & Sutil on 2 wheels
By Karl King April 25 2008
Force India has taken delivery of two zero emission electric motorbikes provided by Vectrix. The bikes run on battery power and can just be plugged into any normal electrical socket to charge them up. The bikes can reach 0-50 in 6.8 seconds and will do a top speed of 62mph, so they'll hardly set the world alight - but then again they're not meant to as that would not be very 'green'.

'As a Formula One racing team we are well aware of our responsibility to off-set our carbon emissions from Grands Prix, testing and travelling around the globe and the Vectrix bikes are a practical and innovative way to continue our policies', Vijay Mallya said.

'They're a great product; versatile, fast and cheap to run, they will be a very welcome addition to the team on events,' he continued.

The bikes are not the only new addition to the Force India team this weekend. The team is also showing off a brand new motorhome, big and luxurious enough to rival McLaren's 'Brand Centre'.
