Mallya defends Sutil from critics

Adrian Sutil
By Karl King May 6 2008
After some disappointing races this season some F1 critics and fans have been quick to criticise Force India's Adrian Sutil. From four races the young German has only had one race finish - and that was in last place, with car problems and a collision in the other three. His error in the last GP in Spain where he spun into Vettel didn't go down too well with some people on our message board either!

There has also been some speculation amongst fans that if Sutil doesn't shape up his act soon, he may be replaced by Vitantonio Liuzzi, the team's tester.

Mallya said that in Spain, where Fisichella scored a top-ten finish for the team,"Adrian...was very unfortunate, but I am sure that his luck will turn, as luck does.

"He's got a lot of talent, he's quick, and I think he can do a good job for us.

"What we have to remember is that Giancarlo is approaching his 200th Grand Prix, Adrian has competed in just over 20, that's a tenth of the number of his team mate.

"Together however I think we have a very strong pairing and are exactly where we should be at this stage in the season."

Adran said he wants "the complete package" in Turkey - a good qualifying and a good race.

Encouragingly, he also commented that he enjoys the Istanbul track, "It is a great track with good corners and now this year we go a little bit earlier to the race so it should not be as big a problem with the heat.

"I look forward to this race and hopefully it will go without any problems. I think the rest of the season should be much better than it has been and hopefully it really starts in Turkey now."
