Most of the field came to Jerez except Ferrari and Toro Rosso who chose to test closer to there homes in Italy.

Todays goal from the test was to get a better understanding of the Bridgestone Potenza tyre options and the scorching heat proved the perfect weather for there test. The Leafield team used the hot weather to try and prepare for the sizzling reputation of the Hungarian Grand Prix.  Rossiter ran through some initial set up work and then moved onto long tyre runs.

Day 2 saw James Rossiter back in the cockpit running a chassis set up in the morning along side tyre evaluations. In the afternoon James concentrated on a number of control systems evaluating them for the 2008 season. Rossiter also went through a number of set up options before wrapping up day 2.

James Rossiter testing report:

“It has been a very good two days testing for me. The car was reliable and we had no issues. On the first day we found good car balance and set-up for the next race in Hungary. On day two we worked on control systems and set-up options for 2008 and I think that we have found a positive direction in this area for next year.”

Takuma Sato took the last day of testing at Jerez concentrating on a front aero test and an electronic systems check. During the baking afternoon sun Sato began chassis evaluations and to finish the 3 day test he carried out race start simulations.

Takuma Sato testing report:

“It was a good test and although it was very hot, the weather was consistent. We completed many laps today during which we ran through our normal tyre evaluation, electronics testing and a lot of set-up work, which produced interesting results. The car performance was encouraging and showed once again that we have good reliability. The extremely hot conditions prepared us for Hungary, so we are looking forward to next week.”

“It has been a good test for SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM, preparing it for the immediate and long term future. Excellent reliability and hot weather helped the team condition itself for the next Grand Prix in Hungary and I would like to thank the team for its efforts when working in these temperatures.”
