We have a silly season?
By Gunman December 11 2007
Now that Fernando Alonso has finally signed a contract with Renault, the driver line-up for 2008 starts to become more clear. Super Aguri has been quiet about the issue. Only Takuma Sato mentioned he wants to stay and that he's negotiating with the team.

A few months ago, some rumors said that Rubens Barrichello would be demoted from Honda to Super Aguri, in order to make room for Alonso. But Honda's boss already said that Barrichello had no reasons to worry, and Alonso is no longer free.

Davidson has been extremely quiet about his situation, but the other teams don't show any interest in him. GPUpdate.net believes that SA will keep its line-up and Davidson will be a race driver again.

SA's test driver, James Rossiter, has also been quiet during his test drives. He's probably too young for the job, but it wouldn't be the first time a test driver takes a job from a race driver.

Also, Force India has been testing all the 2007's rejects and "past their time" guys. Maybe Super Aguri will try to grab one of those desperate people?

Luca Filippi linked to Super Aguri seat

Luca Filippi is in the running to secure a Formula One race seat in 2008, according to a Swiss newspaper report.

Blick says the impressive Italian is a contender to be Takuma Sato's new team-mate at Super Aguri.

Leafield based Super Aguri is known to be struggling financially at present, and Blick claims that 22-year-old Filippi could bring around 10 million euros to the team in the form of personal backing.

Filippi finished the 2007 GP2 championship in fourth place, driving for Super Nova.

He is also in the running to be Honda's new official test driver for 2008, but also ran in Super Aguri colours in the post-season Barcelona and Jerez tests.
