The 2008 GP2 Car

GP2 Series Technical Regulations are, simply, that each car is to be run as specified by the GP2 2008 details below. GP2 is a single specification series, and as such no individual developments or upgrades are permitted and all structural parts must be repaired by Dallara.

Front suspension: 

Double steel wishbones, pushrod operated, twin dampers and torsion bars suspension.
Adjustable ride height, cambers and toe. 
Two way adjustable Koni dampers.
Adjustable anti-roll bar.

Monocoque and Bodywork: 

Survival cell – Sandwich Carbon/aluminium honeycomb structure made by Dallara.
Front and rear wing – Carbon structures made by Dallara
Bodywork - Carbon – Kevlar honeycomb structures made by Dallara

Steering system: 

Non assisted rack and pinion steering system.
XAP steering wheel with dashboard, marshalling display, gear change and clutch paddles.

Brakes:

6 pistons monobloc Brembo callipers.
Hitco carbon-carbon brake discs and pads.

Fuel cell:

FIA Standard. 
Premier FT5 125 litres.

Engine:

Designed by Renault – Assembled, maintained and rebuilt by Mecachrome
V8 – 4 litre atmospheric – 600 HP @ 10.000 rpm.
8 in 1 exhaust.
Fly by wire accelerator system.
Rebuild after 4000 to 4500 km.

Gearbox:

6 speed longitudinal sequential gearbox.
Electro-hydraulic command via paddle shift from steering wheel.
AP Carbon clutch.
No on-board starter, anti stall system.
Non hydraulic ramp differential.
