Davide Velsecchi returns from injury.

Velsecchi in Istanbul
By Shelley White July 2 2008
Davide Velsecchi returns to his Durango seat after an accident in Istanbul left him with spinal injuries and a concussion which meant he had to sit out the next two rounds. He returns for the Silverstone round to partner team mate Alberto Valerio at Durango.

During qualifying in Round 2 of the 2008 GP2 series in Istanbul Davide Velsecchi was merely a passenger in an 150 mph plus accident which is thought to have been caused by a brake problem.

He suffered a concussion and spinal injuries which meant that he subsequently had to miss the next two rounds of the championship, his seat taken by compatriot Marcello Puglisi in Monaco and Ben Hanley at Magny Cours.

Davide returns to racing in this round at Silverstone. He would certainly hope to build on his first round results of 10th in the feature and 5th sprint race, and his 20th place in the championship. He must also contribute further to his teams title fight to get off the lower rungs of the ladder, where his 2 points from Spain are to date the teams only score.
