The Roth squad had bee unable to partcipate in the first Homestead-Miami test due to several issues, including the fact that rookie driver Jay Howard was still waiting to undergo his rookie test, needed to gain his IndyCar license.
Team owner/driver Marty Roth lead the speed charts for both evenings of the test, putting up a session-best 212.816 on Tuesday, just about 0.5 mph slower than the times set by the Ganassi Racing duo during the first test. The former CCWS drivers had their issues (Bruno Junqueria, pictured above, was unable to run at all on Monday), but all managed to put in a respectable number of laps and post speeds in the 207-210 mph range.
The biggest "incident" of the test came on Tuesday evening when Newman-Haas- Lanigan driver Graham Rahal spun and backed into the wall: a situation that was likely the result of high tail-winds buffeting the cars as they entered Turn One.
The 2008 IndyCar season will start Saturday evening at 8pm Miami time with the running of the GAINSCO Auto Insurance Indy 300. The 2008 Indy Pro Series season will kick off earlier that day, at 12:30 pm, with the Miami 100.
