He is allready half-way there. Matos took the Saturday Indy Lights event after starting from the pole. Richard Antinucci finished in second place for the second consecutive weekend and Ana Beatriz came home in third: the best ever finish by a woman in series history.
"I love St. Petersburg," Matos said afterwards. "The atmosphere is great and everything was just working great today with the AFS Racing/Andretti Green Racing car."
Now all he has to do is win again on Sunday as the Indy Lights drivers open the day for the Indy Racing League with a 40 lap event that preceeds the IndyCar Series' Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Matos will start from 4th place on the grid.
You can follow the Firestone Indy Lights race via live video streaming on www.indycar.com, starting Sunday at 10:45 am Eastern/2:45pm GMT. The IndyCar race will start at 2:30pm Eastern.
