Obviously, I also hope that I have sparked an interest in the IndyCar Series, as well as the Firestone Indy Lights "feeder" series, in a few of you.
If you haven't quite caught the "bug" yet, please keep checking back anyways: 2009 is shaping up to be just as exciting and hard fought. There have already been a few major moves in "silly season', and I expect that a couple more will come before April. Once the season starts, it will be time to answer some important questions, like; can AGR once again find the form that made them the dominant squad from 2004-2007? How will Helio Castroneves' off-track legal woes effect Team Penske? Will the Ganassi duo of Dixon & Franchitti prove to be unbeatable? Will any one the 'second tier' squads raise their game enough to make a run at the champonship? Can Ana Beatriz win the Indy Lights title?
We should also be getting a clearer picture of the future of the series as the plans for the 2011 engine/chassis change discussions contine. With the IRL's stated intention for using as much of 2010 as possible to test the new car and work out the bugs, I'm guessing that we will know who the enigne suppliers are - and see at least a finished drawing of the chassis - fairly soon.
This is alot to look forward to, and I will be happy to bring the latest developements your way as soon as they become public.
Thanks again for you continued patronage.
Andy
