Hunter-Reay Now At Foyt
By Andrew Cutler
June 12 2009
AJ Foyt Enterprises has made yet another driver change in their quest to find a replacement for the injured Vitor Meira. This time they have struck a deal with Vision Racing, whereby Ryan Hunter-Reay will move over to the seat of the ABC Supply Co. #14 car for the balance of the season. In the meantime, Vision will keep searching for a sponsor to fund his return to the #21 car come 2010.

Now in his second IndyCar season, Hunter-Reay currently sits 10th in the championship chase, with a season's best finish of 2nd in the opening round at St. Petersburg, FL. He has one win to his credit; last year at Watkins Glen (while driving for Rahal-Letterman Racing).

Vitor Meira was injured in a crash with fellow Brazilian Raphael Matos during the Indy 500. It is currently hoped that he will be ready to return to action for the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami, in October. Foyt will make a second car available for Hunter-Reay should that come to pass.
