While the details of the deal have yet to be revealed, it is reasonable to expect that the IndyCar Series will use IZOD's money - which some speculate could be as much as $10 million per year - to help defray normal operating expenses and to further their marking efforts. In return, the IZOD name will likely get incorporated into the series name (the Izod IndyCar Series, the IndyCar Series presented by Izod, or the like) and the company will undoubtedly ramp up their IndyCar-themed product line, which first came out in late 2008.
Another possible peice of the puzzle could concern the fate of IndyCar driver Ryan Hunter-Reay, who has been the "star" of IZOD's marketing for the above-mentioned appearel (see the above picture). Rumors are cirulating that IZOD money will help Ryan land a seat at either Andretti-Green Racing (Hideki Mutoh is not expected to return to AGR for 2010) or at a reborn Rahal-Letterman Racing (who sat out most of the 2009 season, & where Hunter-Reay got his one IndyCar victory to date in 2008).
I expect that the new conference will be shown via live video streaming at one - or both - of the following websites:
