Sao Paulo Track Revealed
By Andrew Cutler
January 26 2010
The IRL has finally released the layout of the street ciricut for the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season opener, to be held in Sao Paulo Brazil. The 2.6 mile, 11 turn circut will incorporate the permanent grandstands used for the city's Carnival celebrations. It will also feature a 9/10 mile straightaway, the longest on the IndyCar circut, on the backstretch.

The layout was desgined by former IRL offical Tony Cotman, who now runs NZR Consulting, a race track development firm. "Everybody we're working with is incredibly motivated to showcase the event. I'm sure there will be some fine-tuning in the future, but to be perfectly honest it's no different than going to any of the temporary circuits where we currently race. It will be fast. It will be fun. It will be exciting. It will be safe. Most importantly, from a fan's perspective, they'll see a lot of action."

Here is a map of the Sao Paulo circut, courtesy of indycar.com. The race will be held on March 14 & will be seventy-five laps long.
