Lotus Start Engine
By Luke Marc Carlile-Stanton
February 7 2010
The Lotus F1 Racing Team started up it's new engine at the teams factory in Hingham last night as the team takes one step closer to making it's debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix on the 14th March. Like all the new teams Lotus will be using the Cosworth V8 engine in the cars that will be driven by Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen...

...and after some minor technical delays the team successfully started up the engine.

"We'll be shaking the car down on Tuesday, just getting this fire-up is one thing, there's still a lot of parts to go on there," Lotus F1 Racing's technical director Mike Gascoyne told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"We're on the home run now, and that's the first Lotus Cosworth that's fired up for 27 years, so that's a big milestone," He added.

The fire up of the engine can be heard here:

Quite a milestone. It is a bit nostalgic. I hope they get the livery right.
