By Naomi Willemsen
March 11 2010
CNN International will have its very first encounter with the world of Formula One with the 1Malaysia Lotus Racing team, as the world famous news network signed a contract with the Lotus brand. The CNN logo will be seen on the drivers’ overalls, the team clothing and last but not least; on the 2010 challenger, the T127.

Having signed a long term deal with the Norfolk based squad, CNN looks forward to working together with the team owned by Tony Fernandes – and apart from that, to reach out to yet another large group of people.

Senior vice president CNN International Advertising Sales  Rani Raad said: “The combination of two such iconic and aspirational global brands fits perfectly with CNN International’s worldwide reach and brand positioning. This Unique partnership with Lotus Racing takes CNN International into a new era of marketing and promotions and puts us in front of a worldwide audience of millions.”

Together with Raad, Tony Fernandes is poised to start their collaboration with each other.

“We are very proud to welcome CNN into the Lotus Racing family. It is a sign of the positive impact and we have already made in the  global business market that such a prestigious brand, familiar to millions around the world as the definitive source of news and current affairs, has made the decision to partner with us. The whole team and I are looking forward to working with CNN in the months and years to come in some very exciting campaigns.”
