By Luke Marc Carlile-Stanton
March 15 2010
The Lotus Racing Formula One Team finished their first race at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Six months after the team got their entry into Formula One the team have built, tested and raced a Formula One Car. Drivers Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen were the only drivers of the new teams to finish with Heikki finishing 15th and Jarno 17th.

Heikki managed to beat Scuderia Toro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi. Heikki and Jarno finished three laps down and managed to get to inside three seconds of the lead cars. A Hydralics issue meant that Jarno slipped behind Heikki in the race.

Fernando Alonso won the first race of the 2010 season and his first win on his first drive for the Ferrari team. Felipe Massa in the other Ferrari finished 2nd with Mclaren's Lewis Hamiton finishing 3rd.

Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel would have won the race but an engine problem meant that he fell down to and finished 4th. Mercedes GP's Nico Rosberg finished 5th ahead of seven times World Champion Michael Schumacher on his return in the other Mercedes.

World Champon Jenson Button finished 7th on his debut for Mclaren just ahead of Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber in 8th. Force India's Vitantonio Liuzzi and Williams' Rubens Barrichello rounded out the points positions and the top 10.
