Massa Tops, While Alonso feels timings deceptive

Felipe Massa topped the testing time for Ferrari on day one at Valencia, while Alonso had expressed that test timings would be misleading.



Alonso had stated that with refuelling ban in place, he expects teams to run on varied fuel loads during the tests.
On one hand teams would be running on full tank that would want to make it last the whole race, and on other hand they would need to test very light fuel loads for setting up the car for qualifying rounds.

Interacting to the media few days back, he felt that its almost impossible, in such a scenario, to know where the team stands, as they would be running on different fuel loads. Hence, not much should be read into the testing times this year.

Fernando's confidence of F10's competitiveness also was vindicated by his fellow team-mate, Felipe Massa, who topped both the test sessions for the day at the Valencia circuit.

Felipe posted the fastest time of 1:12.574 in a total run of 102 Laps, followed by Pedro de la Rosa for Sauber and Michael Schumacher for Mercedes respectively.

Speaking to reporters, Schumacher, who has come back to F1 and testing after three seasons since his retirement, said, he was thrilled to see Felipe on the track.

The testing resumes tomorrow at the circuit, with Massa again doing the duties for Ferrari, while Alonso will do the honours the following day.
