Ferrari Undertake
|---|---|
| Ferrari have revealed that their upcoming test will not take place at the Mugello circuit, but rather at Vallelunga, due to poor weather. This test will see the debut of Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari car, but he will be in last season's racer. Why? Many have raised questions about Kimi only testing the 248 F1 and not the F2007 and these questions often include wild speculation about Kimi's driving techniques and ability. There are really two simple reasons which are logical to assume. First is that Ferrari does not have two fully developed F2007 cars ready for the test, not an uncommon event right after the car's launch. That point is obvious but it may also be likely that Ferrari have found that it is better to have Kimi learn the Ferrari systems in the older car, while Felipe (who is already experienced with Ferrari car design) helps to develop the new car. This is quite logically actually and nothing else needs to be read into it. As for the test, it will now take place at the Vallelunga Circuit from the 23rd to the 25th of January. Another logical move as apparently Mugello will encounter poor weather which could hamper the test on those days. Be sure to check back with Ferrari 1 as we will of course have complete testing reports from all three days of the test, as well as the first pictures of Kimi Raikkonen in a Ferrari. |
