Massa Refuses To Help Raikkonen
By Dale Calkins

Only a week ago, Felipe Massa vowed he would do anything to help team mate Kimi Raikkonen win the Drivers' World Championship. No after the Japanese Grand Prix, it has become unlikely for Kimi to win the title and therefore Massa will no longer assist him in his challenge.

To Help
Raikkonen

After failing to finish the Italian Grand Prix at Monza this past weekend, the World Championship seems almost certainly out of reach for Ferrari's Felipe Massa. The Brazilian's team mate Kimi Raikkonen, is still in strong contention, though Massa realises his title bid is quite possibly over. This is what Felipe had to say:

"I will try to win both races. I am not planning to help him (Raikkonen). In 2008 Felipe Massa will do whatever he can once more to win the championship. "Next season I will approach the season the same as I did this year. I have to try to be more consistent and finish every race. We will also try to get our cars more reliable," Massa said."

With only two races to go, Raikkonen would need to make up a 17 point margin to Hamilton. This is quite unlikely. In fact the only thing that would result in this happening is Hamilton taking quite a serious penalty for his driving in the Japanese Grand Prix, which is now under investigation. This is very unlikely to happen. Kimi would basically need to win one of the next two races and finish first or second in another, with Hamilton scoring no points at all, for the Finn to take the title.
