Following the confirmation that Cardiff Blues will definitely be renting a stadium from Cardiff City FC, theArmsPark.co.uk has once again tried to get in touch with Gwydion Griffiths, the Blues Marketing Manager, to find out more information reguarding cost, identity and amenities.

Following the confirmation that Cardiff Blues will definitely be renting a stadium from Cardiff City FC, theArmsPark.co.uk has once again tried to get in touch with Gwydion Griffiths, the Blues Marketing Manager, to find out more information reguarding cost, identity and amenities.
Below is the e-mail which I sent to Gwidion. I have tried to contact Mr. Griffiths once before on behalf of this site, but failed to get a response, you can see that e-mail here. If I do get a reply, it will of course be posted on this site the moment I open the e-mail.

Dear Mr. Griffiths,
My name is Andrew Collins and I run the Cardiff Blues fans site theArmsPark.co.uk. Having just read the confirmation that the Blues will play all of their home matches at Cardiff City FC's ground from 2009 onwards, I was wondering if you could release more details of the move to the fans and shareholders that visit my site.
Any information on the following questions would be greatly appreciated by my sites visitors, most of who are yet to be convinced that this is the best move to push the region forwards.
- How much basic rent will Cardiff RFC Ltd. be paying per annum, and how much of match day income will also be paid to Cardiff City FC?
- Will there be any permanent Cardiff Blues branding around the ground, or will it only be temporary as expected?
- Will the region share the club shop with Cardiff City, or will we be forced to assemble a tent on match days?
- How much can fans expect match day tickets to cost following the move?
- Will tickets be sold from a joined ticket office, r will that solely belong to CCFC?
There are many fans feeling upset by the move, and angry that their opinions have not been taken into account during the talks with CCFC. Many people have voiced concerns over the ground rental, and are all keen to hear more details regarding the move. Any information regarding the above questions would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure all the sites visitors are looking forward to your response.

I wouldn't hold much hope Andrew. I've tried to contact Mr. Grittiths without any reply on any occassion.
I hope that the move, even thought i'd rather not move, turns out to be similar to the ospreys. The stadium should show the logos of the Blues and Bluebirds and the shop should either be equally shared or have two equal sized outlets.
I presume that the move shall leave the region financially better off or else we wouldn'y be persuing it.
Now that there is nothing we can do to stop it i think that we should get behind it and get the stadium as full as possible.

Had it occured to you that, if the deal does include something that'll make us better off finacially, they're keeping it awful quiet?
Why do you suppose they'd do that? To keep it as a nice suprise? Wait until December to make it public so as to give all the supporters a Christmas present?
Have you considered that we might not actually be set to benefit from this and the people driving it have other motives?
Is that not a possibility you're willing to entertain?

Why would it be the same? Do you not understand the fundamental difference betwee Swansea and The Ospreys being a JOINT venture and Cardiff RFC LTD RENTING FROM Cardiff City?

I'll support the boys this coming season but, the way I fee lnow that is it. I hope we do well this season.But my Cardiff is gone after that. I hold Thomas and Norster, along with those lemmings who are unable or unwilling to think for themselves, as guilty.

I'm not going to speculate. The point I'm making is that, if this is all on the level and none of us have anything to worry about, why has there been so little transparency?
When any club in any sport decides to move from a historic home which many people are attached to, the club has an obligation to explain to the fans why they've decided to make such a major decision.
They've not done that.
On the one hand, this makes me feel insulted. It also makes me deeply suspicious.

Some of us have tred not to speculate. We just ask WHY it's so good? Sadly the pro lobby don't speculate either they just repeat the mantra "IT's GOOD: IT'S GOOD" over and over as though repeating it makes it true.

Still no response from the man CRFC Ltd employ to talk to the press. I cant beging to imagine why he wouldn't want to talk to the fans about this great move that the region is making.
The only way i' ever get a response from GG would be by e-mailing him a love letter.

Financial motives for moving to the CCFC ground? What about what the blues are leaving behind.
How much is a slab of land THAT big worth in the centre of Cardiff? I know about the Butes conditions of use, but after u’ve demolished the arms park to finish the millennium stadium for increased capacity on international day, how about a massive car park for ‘stadium parking’. Rent it out during the week for ‘day-to-day’ use and u have urself a handsome income. Anybody parked in one of the NCP car parks in these days. Its ridiculous. Then when the lease runs out, sell it for flats.
Nobody in the WRU really cares about club rugby. A couple of thousand pounds and u'd soon get the attendance up in that place. I've been too MUCH worse grounds.
Get a big screen to show replays would do wonders,
A digital clock so u dont have to look at ur watch and guess how much time is left,
and hell, get 2 of those machines the millennium stadium has that pours 6pints in 5 seconds and u’d be laughing.
Do they honestly think they are going to get a larger attendance from moving from a fantastically placed ground to one thats a pain to get to on a Friday night, esp if u want a drink... Not to mention was it 8,000 their average attendance this year? In a 12,000 capacity stadium is still quite a full stadium. 8,000 in a 25,000 seater, not quite as impressive.

The club sees not need or reqiurment to speak to fans / supporters, Members or shareholders.

I must be the Chosen One. I actually had a reply from GG and I'll repeat verbatim what he said:
Thank you for your e-mail.
We do understand the concerns that some supporters may have and it is disappointing that some feel they will not receive an answer if they e-mail or write to the club.
The board decided that the move was effectively a management board decision and did discuss it with leading members of supporter's organisations and made it clear that this was an option we were looking at. We also made a large presentation to the shareholders in our limited company AGM and we continue to welcome any constructive views from our supporters.
Below is the Tripartite statement on Leckwith Stadium which was posted on www.cardiffblues.com on 18th September 2007 and in the Glasgow match programme Friday 21st September.
Further information will be published on the website and a leaflet regarding the stadium will be sent out to 2008/2009 season ticket applicants and distributed in events that the cardiff Blues will be attending over the summer.

In all fairness to the bloke, he has e-mailed me back twice, but i havent had chance to put the e-mails on here. I'm also waiting to post them on here until i have had confirmation from Mr Griffiths that i can put them online with his permission.
