Ferrari Drivers In The News…Ferrari Drivers find themselves in the news again. Both Kimi and Massa found themselves at the top of the time sheets in Bahrain. The Brazilian posted a quickest time of 1 minute, 32.162 seconds at the Bahrain International Circuit as the Italian team tested various setups ahead of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Kimi on the other hand had topped the testing times a few days earlier with a quickest time of 1.32.102. Both drivers however experienced some technical issues during the tests. The F60 seems to be performing well but not without it’s growing pains.
The Bahrain tests exposed a problem with the cooling element of the energy recovery system, as well as a gearbox issue and some electrical problems. Massa commented, "We've made many changes and developments, the F60 is coming on well," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "It's not a new-born any more, it's becoming really quite good." Massa was fastest in Thursday's testing that was attended by BMW and Toyota as well as Ferrari, but the differences were minimal. And Massa believes that's a good sign for the coming season. "There's great competition between the three teams testing here. I'm sure other teams will be quick as well," he added. "We're only at the beginning and all the cars are being developed, we'll only know who developed the best when the first GP comes around."
Kimi has mentioned that he feels more at home in the F60 than he did in the F2008. It seems that Ferrari’s new challenger suits his driving style. Kimi shared his thoughts, "I only try to give my best. Everyone knows what we can do and our objective is to win the championship," Raikkonen shared with 'Corriere della Sera'. "There are many things that need to go well to achieve that, and I'm not necessarily talking about luck," he added, "But I'm not thinking of that now: I think about doing some good tests and having a strong start to the season in the early races." Kimi has also been in the news this winter for his participation in some Rally races for which he placed 13th and 17th respectively.
