FERRARI: Barcelona Final Day Testing Recap
By Ernesto Nigro
March 12 2009
Today marked the final day of testing...

Today marked the final day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Ferrari F60 was in the hands of Ferrari Pilot Felipe Massa. The weather was fair and cool with an air temperature of 8/16 °C and a track temperature of 19/26 °C.

Felipe Massa worked on set-up adjustment checks on the Ferrari F60. The Brazilian driver covered a total of 92 laps, the quickest in a time of 1:20.677.   Sixth quickest on the day behind Former double world Champion Fernando Alonso.

The Scuderia's winter testing thus came to an end today: the next time it will appear on track will be at the Australian Grand Prix, the inaugural round of the 2009 World Championship, which takes place at Melbourne's Albert Park circuit, from 27th to 29th March.

Overall winter testing was productive, but not without it's challenges.  Ferrari battled harsh rainfalls, windstorms and unreliability,  primarily with overheating of the new KERS system.  While all indications are that the team will start the season with this new technology, its benefits have not yet proven that they outweigh the risks.
