Let's start with Ferrari:
Rumors persist that Alonso is on his way to the fabled marque. While Alonso and Ferrari have both denied the union, several believe the deal is inked. This past week, rumors resurfaced that the deal could be announced in Monza this year. Adding further fuel to the fire is the recently announced sponsorship deal with Spanish Santandar. Further to Alonso rumors are the constant rumors linking Valentino Rossi to a switch from two wheels to four. Despite deciding against the move several years ago, and dismissing subsequent speculation, Valentino Rossi has now admitted moving to formula one with Ferrari "could happen" in 2011."Yes, I am quite happy to talk about it," Rossi, 30, told the Daily Star Sunday while in Leguna Seca for the US MotoGP round."It could happen in 2011," he added. "Why not?"In less speculative news, It seems that Scuderia Ferrari will be looking to shift development to next year's challenger. Luca DiMontezemolo has been quoted as saying, "I am confident that we can improve our performance into the next race," President Luca di Montezemolo is quoted as saying by RTL. "But it is going to be difficult if not impossible to dramatically change the car within this season without any tests. Soon we will concentrate fully on next year's car," Luca explained, confirming that the F60's successor will not feature a Kinetic Energy Recovery System.
COSWORTH - FIA:
The FIA has apparently selected only new teams with no ties to car manufacturers to make their Grand Prix debuts in 2010. Britain's Daily Telegraph cites disgruntled bosses who missed out in the FIA's selection process as alleging that only a commitment to independent engine supplier Cosworth ensured a spot on next year's grid.
BERNIE'S HITLER REFERENCE:
“In a lot of ways, terrible to say this I suppose, but apart from the fact that Hitler got taken away and persuaded to do things that I have no idea whether he wanted to do or not, he was in the way that he could command a lot of people, able to get things done,” said Ecclestone The World Jewish Congress is calling for his resignation with their President, Ronald Lauder, stating that Ecclestone is not fit to serve as head of the pinnacle of Motorsport. Bernie explains now: "All this is a big misunderstanding. In the interview we were talking about structures and that it can sometimes be good to act and make strong decisions without reservation"Bernie's time has come. It's time change at the top of both FOM and the FIA in this reporters opinion.
BRIDGESTONE:
For the four races from the Hungarian Grand Prix to the Italian Grand Prix Bridgestone will depart from its concept of leaving a gap in rubber stiffness between the two allocated tires for each race, meaning that consecutive compound pairings are allocated for each of these races. Bridgestone’s intermediate and wet tires will continue to be brought to all races.
BUTTON THE BEST?
Jenson Button insists he is the sport’s greatest driver ever.
Button, 29, leads this season's Driver's standings by 23 points over his teammate. So when Sportsmail columnist Piers Morgan asked him for his opinion on the greatest racing driver in history, Button said simply: ‘Me, I’m the best.’
REDBULL LINKED WITH POSSIBLE SWITCH:
Red Bull Racing may want to switch engine suppliers for next year. The team has been linked with a switch to Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz is seems interested in the team because of possible access to rising German star Sebastian Vettel, and also because Mercedes-Benz is looking to expand its engine supplies to avoid lay-offs in its engine division.CANADIAN GP 2010:
Work on reinstating the Canadian GP on the F1 calendar is progressing, according to the French-language newspaper La Presse. Mayor Tremblay has approved the spending of city funds on key improvements, to be overseen by Normand Legault, to the pit area of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The 2009 F1 season has been the first in many without a North American presence for the sport. The manufacturers are keen to get Canada and the US GPs back on the schedule. There is still no confirmation that either GP will be on the calendar for next season at this point in time however.
