As AT&T Williams driver Rubens Barrichello prepares for the opening round of testing in the lead-up to the opening race of the 2010 championship he spoke of how his desire to be successful has not diminished despite his many years in the sport.

BarrichelloAfter a 2009 season that saw his challenging for the drivers title with the Brawn team Rubens has switched to the Williams team for 2010 and has recently been focusing on getting to know his new team as well as those of engine supplier Cosworth. His visits to the Williams team has given Rubens the opportunity to motivate himself but also the Williams team. Such was Rubens drive he found himself staying in his motorhome at the Williams factory so that he could spend time there getting to know team members, rather than holidaying in Brazil.

Barrichello said: "I've been visiting the Williams factory a couple of times already, so it is good to come to Cosworth and see the intentions. You can see good signs at Cosworth as well - they are here not just to do well but also to win.

"Technically it is good to get some of the information but also to pump people around, and say we are all there behind them - as it is a win together, lose together business."

He added: "You don't gain things by just phoning – you have to be there in presence. It is a really nice exercise and I am actually camping in the Williams factory with my motorhome.

"I am there for three days to learn everyone's names. It is a really good exercise and I enjoy it very much – that is my motivation."

For Rubens the 2010 season will offer its own challenges as he leads the Williams team but for him he still has the desire to succeed.

Rubens added: "It is funny how things in life go. I could have said after five years of F1 this is a difficult one and I don't know if I want to do this, but after such a long time I am still very hungry.

"The dream to become world champion is closer than ever. [I am] feet on the ground working as hard as I can and working very hard for success."

"I was very happy to see the sparkle in the eyes of the team staff because they are passionate about what they do, as am I," he told Brazil's Globo via a spokesperson. "The atmosphere is great. I will be on-track on the morning of February 1 and they will only get me out of there at night!"

Yes, he has my full support, I hope his very positive attitude becomes in good results. Every driver that drive for Williams has my support, well except if that german driver would have driven for us I would have become a Mclaren´s fan(Sm7)

LOL- but haven't you already had that idea by rightfully ditching the new "third-reich F1 team"?

For me, McLaren have improved since dropping Dennis, but they still need to show that their moral compass has been repaired. Hamilton also needs to demonstrate more humility, and to loosen up and speak his mind. I hope as part of the cost-saving measures, that they drop the whole corporate act and allow their drivers to open up more. They need to stop overmanaging information and overmanaging race strategy, and they need to stop treating their world champion driver(s) like chastised schoolboys.
"you just concentrate on the driving Leeeeewis"

I am reminded of how much I find McLaren distasteful whenever I hear their scripted radio commentary after winning a race. If they drop that, and if Button (who is genuinely cool) is allowed to be himself, then McLaren will be on the road back from the dark-side.

No-one can touch Williams though. Just too cool for school.

Well, really I don´t like any other team I just said Mclaren to say something, the only teams that I liked (of course except Williams) were Jordan (because of Damon) and Lotus (because there were beautiful) and were the classic old independent teams
