After an encouraging start to the final practice session for the 2016 Abu Dhabi the results of the session was somewhat disappointing. Valtteri Bottas was able to keep in the top ten finishing in 9th but for team-mate Felipe Massa his session would see him down in 14th. His session was marked by a difficult qualifying simulation near the close of the session where he would spin as well as run wide seeing him drop down the times. Of more concern was the fact that both Force India cars were ahead of the Williams pair.
