That was a bit lucky really . . . drivers both underperformed in qualy and made many mistakes . . .
Senna drove well in the wet after the restart though . . and the pit crew are on it . . . hopefully Senna will have a bit more confidence after that finish.

Maldo missed the pit lane entry last season . . . he needs a sat nav!

not luck ... it is 34 which is a great car and allowed to recover from the numerous mistakes winking smiley

I had to go out tonight right at race start time and wasn't overly happy about it, but in the back of my mind was thinking there'll probably be some sort of downpour and i'll hardly miss a thing.

True!

Handy for me tonight but does Bernie still think it wise to host the Malaysian GP at thunderstorm o'clock?

Great save by Senna today and a shame about Pastor's engine.

Mercedes must need yet another technical director to assist their team.
Dont think they ever heard the phrase 'too many chiefs and not enough indians'. Ross Brawn needs to get his hands dirty and do a bit of design drafting
Too many cooks have spoiled the Brackley broth as well.

And how many Technical Directors does it take to change a lightbulb?

Another race with wasted points cause of our drivers.
Weldone to Senna and Maldonado for @#$%& up in qualifying and finishing out of top10.
Weldone to Senna cause of his spin and Maldonado for his funny mistake in the pitlane...great job, he even doesn't know where our crew stand.

Well done to Senna for the good race after restart?

This thread is absolutely absurd. Some of the comments are ridiculous and some of you should be ashamed.

I'm pleased with the 6th place for Senna. His second half of the race was fantastic. He came from dead last!

However, there were team mistakes and driver mistakes. Both need to be ironed out for the season ahead.

A reasonably good result! The pace of that Sauber was surprising. I think every gamble they took paid off today. Perez started on full wets (or took them on in the 1st lap) was upto 3rd behind the safety car and after that incredible pace to keep them there until his mistake 5 laps from end.

That said if this was Melbourne he too would have been in the wall like Maldonado - who missed the pit box entry today!!! It's worse that driving into someone else's pit. Don't they have a lollipop to guide the driver? or he the lollipop man not there because of traffic?

That said Maldonado did come up from absolute last after his pit-stop blunder and pushed for 8-9-10th.

I say FW34 is a reasonably good car & could have won today in the hands of Alonso.

Bruno had the 5th best lap:

I think we should be pleased to be back in the points. Excellent second half of the race by Senna in difficult conditions, and a very competitive sixth place.

Bad luck Pastor - returned from the very back and was on for more points when he had to retire through no fault of his own, once again on the last lap.

Our best result since Singapore 2010.

I agree absolutely. I was to read the end of this thread after the race, but I decided to read from the start. You guys go from one end of the madman scale to another, first bashing the drivers and the team, and then praising Senna and the team in the end. Everyone makes mistakes, the race surely was a gamble and the result IS an anomaly. We have the 3rd or 4th fastest car, we just need dry races and for our guys to keep their heads cool. We'll better our last season's dreadful 9th position surely - I can only estimate 4th or 5th in the constructors championship.
C'mon, let's give them OUR SUPPORT - we're the WilliamsF1 Supporters, aren't we?

I don't know how many of you can be happy with today's outcome...

First one of our drivers hits the other, then Maldonado missing his pitbox.

Sorry but nothing to be pleased about.

wish people would stop moaning it about the race not the beginning of the race so the drivers messed up but still come away with points already better than last season that's a vast improvement as far as I can see I am happy so far yes I would like more points so would every team but compared to last season I am happy so far(Sm128)well done everybody a Williams

100% Williams
WILL SUPPORT WILLIAMS AS LONG AS We HAVE A TEAM To Support

Well done for Williams team - it is amazing how they recovered from so many mistakes and almost got a double points finish. I think we can realistically expect a double points finish if the car continues to perform this way and no stupid mistakes are made.

Also, what do you think about that radio call Perez got when he was on Alonso's back? I think it could be translated as "we need their engines, back off!"

We beat 3 world champions today but some people seem to think it was the worst performance in the history of motorsport. Call yourselves supporters?

To get performance in F1 you need to excel in what you are doing!

Missing the pit is not acceptable.

Re: Malaysian GP - Race
Andrew Hooper 25 March, 2012 13:17
Despite their mistakes they, in particular Bruno, ceratinly put in drivers that made up for them.

So you know exact the circumstances surrounding that incident just from watching the TV?
