A good weekend overall for Renault. I hate team orders in the sport, but I'll spare criticism as I've not yet watched the race, just read reports.
P4 in qualifying though was excellent, and Ricciardo's Monaco qualifying lap was also something special. He's now starting to put that Renault in places on the grid it probably doesn't deserve to be, but the consistent race pace has a way off yet for Renault.
Masterstroke it is not, but the building blocks are there. They're just scattered all over at the moment, and I think a two year plan is ambitious by Renault to compete with the current "Big 3".

Encouraging, certainly. A couple of caveats though.
McLaren were particularly unlucky with their issues. Haas had a rubbish weekend. And RBR has Gasly. (Ricciardo left a big hole at RBR.) That said, it's great to see them recover from such a shambolic start.
The team in trouble now appears to be Alfa, who can't get their car working at all.

Starting 4th and finishing 6th. It would be a proper result for Ricciardo if only Hulk wasn't told to back off and stay behind Ricciardo.
What a farce that was. Solid result for Renno. But painful to the ozman.

Gasly still has some explaining to do. Could Kvyat get yet another chance in the "A" team?
