welcome to all Polish fans here. We will see how the story will unfold tomorrow. At least we have made it to the test which looked very difficult to make the cut.

Robert needs Williams and Williams Robert. One thing you must take for granted - he would not go back to F1 if he did not feel strong enough. This is a complete driver, which he showed by winning his first WRC2 season. He has powerful adaptive abilities. He and RWR need 2-3 races and will have full potential. It must be good because I already have tickets for Hungaro and Monza in my pocket smiling smiley

Mehryar, It's the same as the Autosport one.

Gary Anderson said wait until Thursday to see how it really goes but was quite interested in the front suspension and exlained it was about getting better grip through the front tyres as well as trying not to block the sidepod intake.

Jake Boxall-Legge used the word 'conventional' approximately 2 or 3 hundred times in his analysis.

Anyone got the motorsport.com account to read that analysis of fw42?

I would klike to read it too.

Btw how much more stuff are we gonna bolt on to the car? Diffuser obviously but i also think that we will have more bardgeboard pieces. Maybe updated front and rear wings?

Nice to see we have gone with high rake concept. I really like the look of the car in daylight.

Let's just hope she's reliable and we can crack on with the aero once the parts arrive tonight.

Just had £50 at 11/1 on LeClerc for champ and Ferrari for WCC. I think that's a reasonable bet. Also got 6/1 on Max for champ. RBR think they are ahead of Merc. Lastly, 6/1 on Norris getting on the podium. Long shot.

Our front suspension is the most extreme?

Looks like they we might be trying to claw back some of front aero by making those front suspension pieces really wing like.

Interestingly, and not surprising, several elements Gary Anderson decribed as 'similar to Mercedes concept' e.g. Front Wing, front suspension, and he used the phrase 'pushed the boat out in several areas' presumably meaning a lot of effort and investment, rather than conventional.

And we haven't seen the full package yet

The front brake ducts are divided into two, one the cool down the discs and the other to vent air through the wheel rims? Notice how small are the sidepod inlets.

Barcelona Test One – Day Three

Driver: George Russell

Chassis / Engine: FW42-01 / Mercedes-AMG F1 M10 EQ Power+,

Location: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, 4.655 km

Weather: Cold and dry

Temperatures (min-max): Air 10-15ºC / Track 11-24ºC

Paddy Lowe, Chief Technical Officer: It’s very disappointing to miss two days of this first test in Barcelona, but we are very happy today that we got the car out for the afternoon session. We were late but not for the lack of incredible effort from the whole team both in the factory and here in the garage. We spent the afternoon doing a number of systems checks and various data gathering programmes without any significant reliability issues, so we are happy with that as a first look at the FW42. This puts us in good shape to get down to some more significant programmes starting tomorrow morning. We have missed a lot of time, but we are looking forward at this stage and we will make the very best use of the five days remaining of winter testing. Thank you to all the staff for their teamwork and dedication in getting this car out today.

George Russell: It was amazing to finally drive the FW42. Today we focused purely on install laps, shaking the car down and data gathering. Our focus was not on performance runs so I can’t judge the overall potential of the car, but I’m excited that we will get a full day of running tomorrow.

One part for cooling the disc, one of cooling the calipers and one for wheel blowing?

My thoughts on the car. I am plesently surprised that it looks nothing like the renders. The team did a lot of work on hard to update things like susspension and sidepods. Easier to update things look like make the simplest one that works kind of stuff. I will not be surprised, if come european races (if not sooner) we will have more complex front and rear wings and the floor. There was talk of new production process for the floor, but this one looks so similar to last years one (except the diffuser witch is more basic than last year, but a bit diffirent concept) that I can't belive that it is made in a new way.

Indeed they are. Good catch.

Paddy said that there was no serious issues today and we concentrated on gathering the data and system checks.

I hope we see less a lot less flow-viz this year.

Car looks good with the splash of color, though.

those front uprights and upper suspension arms are so close to the tyres - how they will deal when tyres are wobbling so much over high kerb on some tracks (often seen on slo-mo pictures)

George seems to have a really good attitude. I’m sure this will help rally the team around him and be really useful from a team marketing perspective.

Absolutely no strakes on the diffusor.

I worry they might have tested too many livery concepts at once during that run.
