Can someone elighten me why is Paddy saying that the we started today with a complete car, when our drivers are telling exactly the opposite:
"I think there's still something to put on the car, probably not a lot, but for sure there are things that were compromised."

"Like Kubica, who said that the FW42 was running in a "compromised" state, Russell admitted that the team is not yet fielding the definitive 2019 car:"

“It’s definitely not in its full state let’s say, we’ve definitely got some work to do just to optimise everything. Because it was all last minute, things weren’t 100%, and it was a matter of just trying to get the car on track in whatever means possible, really."

What is going on here?

I mean if we've learned one thing about Williams over the last few weeks it's that they can't communicate. The FW42 certainly didn't appear to have any missing parts

Mikef1, PR only buys you so much time, they sqeaked in some needed time for their sponors flying bits and pieces across Europe. The FW42 needs considerable work and no amount of PR will buy the time needed.

I'm not sure what you're referencing. My point was aimed at the fact that paddy said one thing and that the drivers said the opposite, showing that the internal communication is clearly @#$%& as either the TD or the drivers don't actually know if the car is complete. I then suggested that Paddy is most likely to be right of the 3 as the car does seem to be complete in that there is nothing obvious missing.

it could be many things, for instance, that the basic car is there but at the same time, the drivers expect more. as someone said lots of things are missing like monkey seats etc. This maybe will be introduced later on in the season. We will see, the car looks that can accept a number of modifications and this can be a plus. But in terms of performance, the other teams could have concealed their true pace so we won't know where we are until MElbourne

Many was said about the state of paddy lowe lately, but yesterday he happened to caught in a shot by sky sports, he was passing by chatting with another personnel from the team, and he did not look like he had all the weight of the earth on his shoulders, to be honest. he looked calm and normal.

Tuesday we should have the car with all the planned correctly designed fitting bit on it.

I am sure come next Friday night we will know who is where.

We will have no choice now but to push forward on finding the limit of our new car
from Wednesday on wards.

No time left for us to ease into it this winter.

Anything to do with Williams or Paddy is an easy clickbait at the moment. Think if all the Kubica fans who had been desperate to see their guy finally on track, or anyone who just wants info about the team in general. Any fake news about Williams was being swallowed whole this week people were loving it. Doesn't help that last year Williams seemed to be the most hated team on the grid in places like Reddit where everyone forms the same opinions because it's a popular opinion.

If you look at that chart, it's not actually so dismal. We have yet to have a full day running. Ferrari have put in many hundreds of laps and we are 2.7 behind without pushing for a hot lap I assume. 2 seconds behind the car in 7th.
2 seconds may be an eternity in F1 but we can be sure we have not pushed the car at all yet or gone for a single lap time.

We will have to wait and see but I have some hope that this season is not going to be as dire as last.

Even if we can start a stable platform which can be developed over the months and years without having to admit fundamental flaws, that would be something.

I was thinking the same and you said it Ozzy. No disaster with a half finished car and effectively day 1 times!

Williams: -0,2
Toro Rosso: -3.7
Alfa Romeo: -4.0
Racing Point: -2.2
McLaren: -1.4
Haas: -1.8
Renault: -3.2
Red Bull: -1.4
Ferrari: -1.6
Mercedes: -1.5

Todos los equipos han mejorado mucho, especialmente Toro Rosso Alfa Romeo y Renault. Involución de Williams. #F1Testing

we are already 0.2 faster without pushing, so we are not 2seconds slower. Obviously, the other teams made good improvements

Guys look at the results after the morning session on the first day! Keep in mind that these teams have done their shakedowns already. Having that in mind we did good yesterday, probably a lot more pace to show next week:

I am hopeful that when Robert used the word compromisedit means to me that
they are still trying to get the car fitted shaped as planned on the drawing board and
next week we should be in a better shape at some point.

I feel parts will be coming most days small but hopefully beneficial.

I know you hate me talking about our lap times but that will not stop me.

Tuesday 1:20s

Wednesday 1:19s

Thursday 1:18s

Friday 1:17s 1:16s.

If we see these then i think i and the team will feel optimistic for this season.

Well, well, seems like we now have the source of Bensons "2 seconds slower than the FW41" revelation:

"Former Williams driver Sergey Sirotkin told Russia's Championat: "When I was in the simulator, the (2019) car was two seconds slower (than the 2018 car)."

It's theoretical. All cars in theory are 1.5 seconds slower than last year due to the simplification of the front wing. It remains to be seen how much of that teams have been able to claw back.

A source also told the Judge that Williams always knew Kubica was four grid spots quicker than Sirotkin, so there's a few tenths already.

Maybe.

At the moment, it's all speculation.
