Can't agree. Your asking them to do the impossible. Who says the car is a dud? The laptimes??

Umm no, we have already gone a second faster than last year and their have not been any reports I've seen saying the car is undriveable or looks a handful. Quite the opposite. The drivers are saying it's getting better day by day. If we were a second off what the big three spend, it would be a miracle. Money talks.

Take all these B teams out of the equation leave the top 3 in and we are still 3 seconds adrift

We have not done a good enough job and you could even say we have done a poor job.

We will still support because this is our team but we will also call a spade a spade
no shame in that.

I would miss my teams forum good times and these bad ones.

Stop comparing this new car to last years car

Last years car was one of the worst efforts in F1 history

I really do not want any one to leave but can we just ease off a bit on the criticism that's all.

Williams unfortunately in today's F1 will most likely always be at the back somewhere.

I suppose my frustrations with some of the comments is in part that we are not showing what I was hoping for after this test.

Good.

all things being equal we should be in the top 6 teams i would say 4th 5th or 6th.

We have a great engine in the back also.

Re: 2nd Test. 2019.
Andrew Hooper 01 March, 2019 12:44
I will hold you to that one. 6th after the 2019 season would be such a turn around ... but

I can’t imagine what the mood is like at ROKiT HQ this morning... I feel like this is going to become one of the jokes of the 2019 season, like “the slowest rocket in the world” kind of jabs.

I have been trying to stay optimistic and hopeful throughout this off-season, but I have to admit to feeling pretty downbeat about it all today. It’s going to be really hard spending another year cheering for a team that isn’t even involved in the Grand Prix.

Williams’ twitter said that the red flag interrupted a flying run from Kubica so maybe he was intending to put something quicker in before lunch - did anybody see any promising sector times to back that up?

So will Williams finish dead last in 2019 like they did in 2018 (Sm56)

Getting back to the testing has anyone seen a photo of the FW42 from today showing the cockpit area as from what I could see it looks like the slats that were there in the FW41 are there again. Looks like they were covered over prior to today. Something to do with cooling.

McLaren needed a recovery year after their time in the wilderness. It's just that the press don't throw rocks at them in quite the same way.

I'm actually rather encouraged. There is discernible progress and issues that have dogged Williams for some time are being addressed. The correlation issues, for example. It must be
very difficult building a car when you can't trust any of the in-house tools - which clearly they don't. At one of the crisis meetings early last year, Wurz said anomalies had turned up in 2016.

I also feel a lot more comfortable with George and Robert in the car.

Mikef1 01 March, 2019 13:23
Shame for Kubica but it sounds like he also messed up a lap which is disappointing. George managed to smash out 4 runs and now kubica robbed himself of his only attempt. Unlikely to be back into quali sims after lunch it would be too dangerous with other cars going so slowly

I thought the last hour or so of the last day they go for it.

I do worry a bit about Robert when ever they ask him to put in a flyer he seems to falter maybe i hope i am wrong ?????

I need him to show me he can still cut it on a flyer.

Re: 2nd Test. 2019.
Andrew Hooper 01 March, 2019 13:39
Yes that is another aspect to all the discussions ... if you gave him a perfect car how quick would Robert be? I can only assume that he would be as fast as any other driver.

Re: 2nd Test. 2019.
Williams-123 01 March, 2019 13:46
With Kubica come back this could be bad if he finishers last every race (Sm17)

I think we have to find some kind of strategy to survive in the 'B' team era. Haas is 70% plus a Ferrari, Alfa going in the same direction, STR 50% an RBR . . .

Williams business model doesn't fit the current rules and available budget. Other operators have moved with the times better and made the most of modest budgets. Despite Claire's argument to the contrary we are only place holding until the 2021 rules come in. we'll all need to be patient for another two years and hope for the budget cap and another manufacturer to come in.

Williams should also look at tendering for the spec gearbox contract.

On the Autosport forum they are saying this race sim is awful
