In 20 years time will we look back and say that Max Verstappen was the best Formula 1 driver to never win a WDC???

Will this happen???

I wouldn't be so sure of that Anderis, just look at Stirling Moss.

I think a lot of drivers along with the Honey Badger wouldn't mind their name mentioned in the same breathe as Stirling Moss.

I'd be happy with that comparison, as would 99.99999999999% of people here, I'm sure.

I'd hope that Max and Charles achieve a WDC before Dan with their current machinery. However if they don't achieve it in the next two years, it could be anybody's game.

In alle fairness and with all seriousness, Charles won't become WDC if Ferrari doesn't allow themselves to be proven wrong.
They got Vettel because he was the best available to them. All the gazillions of dollars spend on Vettel are considered a waste of money if they give in to LeClerc and let him win. That seems to be their own opinion. And If love to see Ferrari give LeClerc a full blown chance.

I too agree, Ferrari should let Charles race Seb. For the simple reason Charles has better race craft than the Antipodean and won't pull a brain fart move to that which Max was a victim of at the Azerbijan GP.

That's some pretty obtuse logic for allowing Charles to race, phat. I'd be surprised if that reason appeared on Ferrari's strategic decision plan.

Ferrari risks watering down their point score if they don't prioritise one driver during the season. However, it's a bit too early to make that call and I think they're just playing it safe for now until a clear gap opens up between drivers. It made sense to let Seb overtake LEC in China given that he appeared to be faster. In hindsight they should have pitted LEC earlier, but they were hedging their bets to see if they could stretch out his pit stop, which didn't work. However, if the situation had been reversed, I think they would have let LEC overtake Seb at that time too.

I don't think they will prioritise Seb for the WDC just because they pay him more. They would probably get better marketing value if LEC was to win it this year. They could then sack Seb and save themselves some $$$ for next year. However, for the moment Seb will get priority in 50:50 situations, based on his experience and proven race record. They'll wait to see if Seb makes any more brain fart moves before promoting LEC this season.

As said before, there will be no (big) updates at Baku.
