the sensible thing is to do the event and then be very careful for the following next races

It is very difficult to be careful with an airborne, respiratory virus. Which is why many countries are banning any large events or gatherings. Here the F1 people made a decision, but it's likely Governments will ban future GPs.

Possibly events could be held with empty grandstands and televised . . . that may save a little revenue. But the participation of Ferrari, based in a country under lockdown, cannot really be justified.

Autosport now changes the topic and says it's set to be called off.

Interestingly Sky sport had a topic that the race is set to go on despite Mclaren not taking part.

This is a joke that how much thinking they need to make a clear decision.

Personally I would run this under closed doors. Just televise it on terrestrial tv for free! Give us all something to look forwards to!!

I just hope that we get a clear decision before I go to sleep, so that I know if I wake up for FP1 or not.

It is definitely cancelled, Sky sports announced this around 16.30pm UK time.

Not that it matter much now, but:

Williams

Claire Williams can laugh again: “Our new car is a real step forward. In the long runs, we are in 8th place according to our calculations. We will still be behind on one lap, but much closer to the field. ”Particularly important:“ The processing quality of the parts has become much better. It won't break as much as last year. "

The magic word is better planning. "We have brought all processes in the company to a new level." George Russell has a clear goal for the first race: "I want to at least hit another car." And who could that be? "Most likely Alfa Romeo."

Reading various reports, it isn't only McLaren that had corona suspects. Williams and Haas have also been mentioned.

Since they are all there, they should run and control the public as much as possible. The damage has already been done, not canceling before going to Australia.

No, the public aren't all there yet . . . you put thousands more at risk at the weekend. Theoretically, I accept.

I think really you have to take a decision about spectator sports across the board . . . as many countries have done. Spain has just suspended premier league football, for example.

The British Government is taking no action on sports meetings at this time. In my view, that's leaving a bigger problem for later.

I don't know how they want to race after this weekend.
Next race is in Bahrain behind closed doors, ok....Is it going to be another 9teams race? (Even if there won't be another team joining Mclaren)

As the guys in Mclaren team need to be tested all.It takes time and in the case there are more infected, there's limited time to bring in new guys from UK, test and then let them race.

Next one is Vietnam which I heard has limited or stopped giving visa to a load of countries, UK included.

It will be interesting to see how F1 wants to find a way beyond these limitations.

All other tests were reported to be negative.

Still, I think it is quite amazing that they go on like this.
