McLaren proved to be the fastest team in Monaco during Thursday Free Practice, while Ferrari seemed to be struggling to keep up. Kimi Raikkonen was able to stay in check with Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, though he was still off their pace. More troubling was the fact that Felipe Massa was even further back on the timing sheets.

The first session saw the Scuderia set the early pace, only for them to give up on setting fast laps near the end of the session. This meant that Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton took the top two positions. They were followed by Heidfeld and Fisichella. Then Kimi Raikkonen was the first Ferrari in fifth. Felipe Massa was further down, only placing eighth.

The second session was better for Ferrari as Kimi Raikkonen was able to set the second fastest time. Only Fernando Alonso beat Kimi, though Lewis Hamilton was likely to as well if not for a shunt. Massa also did better in this session, taking the sixth fastest time.

Regardless of Ferrari's pace, McLaren is clearly the fastest team in Monaco so far. Massa and Raikkonen will certainly have to fight hard for a win this weekend.
