What can you say about the best circuit on the modern day formula one calendar? A circuit that has provided thrills and spills to just about every race it has hosted on the Formula one calendar. With the spy saga the only thing stopping an all out McLaren -Ferrari race, we are set for what must be the best race of the 2007 calender.

Round 14- Spa, Belgium
History of the circuit.
What can you say about the best circuit on the modern day formula one calendar? A circuit that has provided thrills and spills to just about every race it has hosted on the Formula one calendar.
Spa is undoubtedly my favorite circuit of all formula one tracks, because of the thrill of watching Formula one cars travel at speeds over 150mph around the 7Km circuit.
The Spa circuit is famous for its unpredictability and changing weather conditions, which make the race at Spa even more exciting. The Spa circuit also has the world renowned Eau Rouge corner. For drivers to get the best time throughout the lap, they must travel at over 185mph as they flick right left and then ease right again to get through Eau Rouge in the fastest possible way.
The circuit has been on the formula one calendar since 1950, however, the first Belgium grand prix was held back in 1925 when they raced at the Spa circuit, at which Antonio Ascari, father of double world champion Alberto, won the race.
Characteristics of the circuit.
The circuit requires downforce and straight line speed, it’s a tricky circuit to choose between as you need downforce for the high speed corners, but you also need a low drag setup for the long straight after Eau Rouge.
Because of the circuit’s long length, the drivers only have to complete 44 laps. The circuit’s high speed corners include the famous Stavelot and Blanchmont at which drivers will be traveling at over 152mph.
