It appears the Jaguar's Niki Lauda will stop at nothing to see his team get to the top of Formula One, including the poaching of staff from other teams. On a day when OrangeArrows feel good about the Grand Prix weekend, comes some disappointing news. Jaguar racing now has it's wind tunnel facility in Bicester fully up and running, and the team are now working flat out to solve the problems with the troublesome R3 chassis. This is a new venture for the team, and in a bid to get ahead Niki Lauda has poached top aero staff from McLaren and Arrows.

Jaguar today announced that Dr Mark Gillan is joining from McLaren and Peter Matchin from Arrows. The two will join up with Jaguar's new head of aerodynamics, Ben Agathangelou during the next fortnight.

The announcement is seen by Lauda as 'a major step in the right direction'.

"The only way we are going to take a major step forward this season will be through significant aerodynamic improvements," Lauda said when making the announcement. "Wind tunnel work is extremely scientific in nature and the results from this meticulous work take time to generate."

This news comes at a difficult time as Arrows themselves work hard at overcoming their own chassis problems. So far the A23 seems to have the legs over the Jaguar R3, despite Eddie Irvine's fluke points finish at the Australian Grand Prix. It'll be interesting to see whether Jaguar can make any speeding progress over the next few races.
