The Arrows Racing Team was founded in 1977, and based in Milton Keynes, in the UK. They made their F1 début at the Brazilian GP in 1978, and finished their first season with 9th position in the Constructors Championship. Not bad for a new team.

| The team fails to compete in the last five races of the season, and at the French Grand Prix due to money troubles. As the season closed a last ditch effort to sell the team to an American investor appeared to fall through.
