 Algarve Test 20:01:2009 Day Two

Following the FW331's debut on Monday, Nico Rosberg would take over from test driver Nico Hulkenberg for the second day of testing as the team continued their initial evaluation work focusing on initial systems, performance and reliability checks with the FW31.

RosbergBut poor weather, at one time there was even a hailstorm, would again hamper the teams test allowing Nico to complete only thirty one laps. Nico would finish the day with the fifth fastest time, 1m:51.580. the team would have a few minor issues with the new car.

Williams F1 Technical Director Sam Michael commented: “We had another wet day in Portugal today. When we could get out on track, we continued working on systems checks and completed some medium runs. We experienced a couple of reliability issues with the 31 which forced us into the garage for a while, but they were nothing major. The team is looking forward to some dry weather tomorrow.”
