Jerez Test
16:03:2009 Day Two
On a dry and sunny day the AT&T
Williams test would complete their second day of testing at the Jerez circuit,
with Nico Rosberg replacing Nico
Hulkenberg. Nico would continue the teams preparations of the FW31 for the
2009 season. Part of the day would see Nico working on a race simulation,
including a practice pitstop.
Nico
would finish the day with the slowest time, 1m:19.783, but would complete a
massive 123 laps. This was the most of any driver present on the day. Nico
will return to the cockpit for day three. Kazuki Nakajima will complete the
final day.
The Williams team had
confirmed that they would not be using the cockpit fins that they had tested
previously. This was based on safety issues with gaining access to the
cockpit by marshals.
Williams F1 Test Team Manager
Dickie Stanford commented:
“Nico Rosberg had his final two days of testing the car today before the
first race in Australia. We completed a very full programme, with the
majority of laps spent on set-up work. Nico will carry on testing tomorrow.”
